Fall Vegetable Gardening
Mama Says . . Take a Break from Holiday Preparations
This weekend I spent some time in my neighbor Sherry’s garden. Sherry is not only my CSA partner but also an avid urban gardener. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, a mere 40 some degrees, as we toured her garden to see how the crop was thriving despite several very cold nights and very limited rain.
I went home with a basket that included lettuce, arugula, mint, rosemary, parsley, celery leaves and radishes. It’s soup and salad time at my house.
Later that afternoon, Sherry relaxed with an original garden fresh cocktail – frozen watermelon (from her garden), Pernod, vodka and lime juice. And she proclaimed that “It was delish.”
