Ciao bella - you’re going to love this wine bargain from Italy!
One of the wonderful wine sellers (get it seller? cellar?) I like to buy from is Carlo Russo Wine & Spirit World. They’ve always got interesting, unique, and budget conscious wines to try from all over the world. The latest one is a beauty from Italy. Here’s a selection from their latest email blast:
San Polo is located in the town of Montalcino, and is a new joint venture between Marilisa Allegrini and Leonardo LoCascio. Their goal is to turn this beautiful property into one of the finest wineries in the area. The estate was purchased in 2007 by Marilisa Allegrini, co-owner of the renowned Allegrini winery in Veneto, and Leonardo LoCascio, CEO and President of Winebow, Inc., America’s leading importer and distributor of premium Italian wines.
The partners hired winemaker Carlo Ferrini, one of the current leaders in Italian winemaking. Together, they are committing to making San Polo one of the leading estates in Montalcino.
Nowadays, many people are choosing to stay home at night to cut down on spending. This is the perfect wine to have with a simple grilled meal of hamburgers, steak, or even pizza. Also, this wine is ideal for lasagna or other pasta dishes, as well as hard Italian cheeses. This delicious red is 100% Sangiovese, loaded with lots of upfront fruit flavors with great concentration.
If you love Italian wine - this one is a no-brainer!
