Thrifty Thursday: DIY At-Home Spa Treatment
DIY Spa Rose Bliss Tub Soak
Resessionita’s rejoice. And relax. Does the economy, your daily schedule and the weather have you frazzled? If so, do something about tonight. After you put the kids to bed, and layout your clothes for tomorrow…. grab a rose from your Valentine’s bouquet and head for the spa (okay your tub) and pamper yourself with an at-home Do It Yourself spa treatment.
Arizona Spa Girls suggests the following soak to lift your spirits with a rose-infused bathtub bliss. They note “roses have been used for centuries to soothe tired and problematic skin and calm emotional tension. Rich in minerals and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, this spa worthy soak will leave you glowing inside and out.” Mama Says – this is just the prescription to chase away the blues.
Gather:
3-5 drops rose essential oil
2 cups Epsom salt
1 rose (use more if you want)
Prepare:
Mix 2 cups of Epsom salt with the rose essential oil. Pour the mixture under running water and ease yourself into a tub of bliss. Add additional drops of rose mineral oil if needed. To create the pretty spa-effect, sprinkle in the rose petals. Lay back. Relax. And breathe deep.
And by using a Valentine’s rose – you are recycling, reusing and repurposing. Aren’t you feeling better already?
