Favorite Thing: Pace Salsa Verde
Salsa Goes With Everything
My name is Lynn and I adore salsa. I admit that I purchase salsa in the large warehouse size containers and gleefully eat through the contents. It is my condiment of choice. Slim in calories. Bountiful in taste. Perfect at all meals.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a series of new Pace salsas on the shelf at the grocery store. Reading the labels was so exciting. Was I in the mood to try a new Pico de Gallo? Tequila Salsa? Triple Pepper Salsa…or Salsa Verde. Where have I been!!!
Oh, how I covet a great salsa verde. As I blogged last summer, I will travel from Atlanta to Colorado just to enjoy the full glory of salsa verde and green chili. And someday will I master a stellar vegetarian chili verde. Enough of the daydreaming about my future concoction… back to my new favorite food FIND.
The PACE website (www.pacefoods.com) note the following on their Salsa Verde – the smoked Spanish paprika that spikes this concoction is not the bland stuff you typically see around. Often found in chorizo sausage, we use it to give chunks of tomatillo splashed with lime a unique and unforgettable kick.
My comment is simple – delicious. So far, I’ve eaten it on:
- Turkey sandwiches as a condiment for smoky, lime-y touch (turkey, bread, salsa verde, lettuce and tomatoes). It also works on a veggie wrap.
- On crackers, instead of peanut butter, for a low-fat afternoon snack.
- Drizzled over steamed vegetables and corn-on-the-cob, instead of lemon, butter, etc at dinner.
- …and as salad dressing.
- An southwest egg scramble (egg whites, chopped leftover baked-potato, tomato, avocado, sprinkle of cheddar cheese, dollop of salsa) for breakfast.
- Enough to determine that they need to provide customers with larger size jars!
And today, I discovered that the PACE website has recipes galore. Life if short and wonderful. Eat salsa with every meal for a real kick. Mama Says, eat salsa…on your homemade meals.
Note: This isn’t a paid endorsement! I’m a fan. I’m working my way through the 2nd or 3rd jar (lost count). Consider me a huge fan that is on her way to gym to workoff thoughts of chips and salsa.
