Wine Wednesday – Pandora 2004 from Alsace
What a great under $20 wine! We bought a case, and everyone that we have shared this 93 point Parker rated wine with has just fallen in love with it.
The vineyard, Domaine de Courbissac, follows the process of biodynamics, and is respectful of the vines, the dirt, and the environment in producing their wines. This particular wine is a blend of Syrah and Grenache, and is fuller than a Burgundy, but has the same sophisticated layers of taste that a much more expensive wine usually has. It is full of black fruit taste, but also reaches deeper to a smokey layer with no lingering dry tannin taste.
I need to buy another case. It’s that good.
