Yippee!  The new Sandy Springs Farmers Market is open for business.  When you live in suburban Atlanta (or suburban anywhere for that matter) it often becomes a shlep to get to the nearest farmer’s market.    This morning, that routine has changed for me.   Just a short bike ride away from my home (ok, 8 miles, but it was a beautiful morning for a ride), a new farmer’s market has arrived!!

Vendors ran out early – which is a really good thing!  Most of the farmers came from within a 45 mile radius and were really pleased with the turnout.  They’re looking forward to harvesting a bit more for next Saturday, and joining us again.

My favorite morning finds were luscious strawberries and small teeny tiny radishes that I’ll use for an appetizer tomorrow night.  Packed up my goodies in my backpack, and a short ride home later I was enjoying the strawberries with some local yogurt from Atlanta Fresh Artisan Creamery.

I can’t wait for next Saturday!!
